Team Ontario Capture Gold at 2026 Elite Flag Nationals

KINGSTON, Ontario — Grace Young delivered a standout performance as Team Ontario captured the gold medal at the 2026 Elite Flag Nationals, earning top honours in the Girls U16 Flag division.

The national championship event, held in Kingston, Ontario, brought together elite young athletes from across the country to compete at the highest level of youth flag football. Team Ontario rose to the occasion, showcasing discipline, resilience, and exceptional defensive play throughout the tournament.

Young played a key role in Team Ontario’s championship run, particularly in the gold-medal game against a strong Team Quebec squad. Entering the game late in the first half on defense, she quickly made her presence felt and remained on the field for the rest of the contest.

Known for her determination and defensive instincts, Young helped shift the momentum of the championship game with a series of important flag pulls, including several touchdown-saving stops. Her composure and consistency under pressure were instrumental on the defense during the championship game for Team Ontario.
